Makin' Stuff!

I haven't posted much lately because I've been quite busy! I've got my crafty groove on...and I always feel blessed that I am crafty because it doesn't cost a lot for me to give something they will always keep! I still laugh when I go to people's homes and see the cards I sent them in amongst their family photos and cherished...and especially here in New Zealand! People aren't as card and gift obsessed...they tend to give chocolate a lot...which I think is a bit sad...you can get it at a gas station...it's not special...it's quick and cheap...2 things I am not! Lol But I digress...as usual. Please let me know if there's anything I've made or inspired you with but maybe you're not sure how you'll do it...I can help! Just contact me and we can set up a play date.

Next...we have a picture I made for Accredited Visiting Services / Age Concern where I volunteer to visit lonely elderly people. They put on an amazing Christmas Party for their staff and volunteers. It was the first thing in the 7 years of being in NZ that made made feel Christmassy :) it was a beautiful day with beautiful people...and I of course couldn't arrive empty handed, so I made them something for their office.

And for the wrapping, I simply used the packaging paper that comes in our orders, the Betsy Blossom Stamp set, Melon Mambo and Pacific Point ink and natural cotton ribbon :)

And Finally...I made an Advent Calendar for Miss Chloe to send up to the north Island so she has a little treat everyday...some chocolate...some jewelry...some fun things.  This is made with toilet rolls, covered in paper and decorated :)

The paper was an Old Creative Memories paper pack and the stamp set is a Discontinued Set called "25 & Counting".

I hoped I remembered everything! Phew!  You deserve a treat if you read everything! :)
have a great time decorating for the holidays and remember...make something from your heart and with your hands...it feels so much better to give and receive this way...I'll always love electronics...but if someone makes me something there's just a different feeling that comes with it.

1st Kiwi Stampers Holiday Meeting 2013 -Update

Last night we had our holiday meeting and as always it was so much fun and I laughed so hard I think I was a bit buzzed when I left.  I didn't fall asleep until like 2:30 AM! So many ideas and thoughts...and even some reflection on how much I missed this group of women and how nice it felt that they actually missed me too. :)

Several posts back, I showed you a tease of my "swap" square for last night.  Instead of cards, we each created a 2 in x 2 in square with specific colours etc to be combined into a framed piece of art :)

My Teaser Post can be found HERE
So here is the square that I made:

And here are the rest of the swaps from others:
I will pop some of the individual squares below:

And just for fun, here are some other goodies and festive pics I took of Amanda Hill's home decorations. It truly was a fantastic evening!!  Wish we met weekly!

My Secret Santa Gift! - LOVED IT!
 Gift from our Upline Rebecca
A PINK pen for coming back to what and who I love! Stampin' Up!

'Tis The Season Challenge #4

Well I thought I'd try a different challenge this week and can honestly say I struggled with the Marina Mist...but found a subtle way to bring it in. Here was the challenge:
Sorry about the weird phone screen shot...thought I had the cropped one, but I can't seem to find.

I played around for awhile on this one.  Usually things just come to me, but this one I really had to work at and I still don't love it...LOL But here it is....

Here are the supplies I used:
Discontinued Christmas DSP Stack from last year...it had all the colours in it!
Chocolate Chip Cardstock
Crumb Cake Cardstock (I don't have Baked Brown Sugar yet)
Paper Piercing Tool
Essentials Paper Piercing Pack
Early Espresso Bakers Twine
Silver Smooch Spritz (discontinued)
Holiday Ornament Framelit Dies
